Clothes
Modest. An abaya is optional and common. Shoulders and knees covered in malls. Swimwear stays on the beach. Holding hands is fine. Kissing in public is not.
Food
Talabat, Snoonu, Rafeeq, Deliveroo (minimum about 40 QAR), and Careem Food. Restaurant tip in the cross-table is 10%. During Ramadan, do not walk the street with a coffee. Malls have screened family sections.
Marriage
Unmarried couples sharing a room is technically illegal and rarely enforced for foreigners in international hotels. Do not use a local guesthouse if that worries you. Cross-dressing is an arrest risk in these notes.
History
The National Museum tells the pearl and desert story in a new building next to the old palace court. Msheireb is the heritage-house district a few minutes away. Souq Waqif is the walk from the same station. The notes warn about paid 'heritage tours' you do not need.
